CLASSES & CURRICULUM
A lively mix of daily activities exposes participants to multiple dimensions of Argentine tango music. A typical day includes sessions in instrumental techniques, chamber music, arranging, and large ensemble.
PRACTICE TIME & INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
9:00AM-10:15AM
Learn techniques and idioms unique to Argentine tango performance on your instrument with our instructors. Each student will receive one individual class during the week. The rest of the time is used for practice or assignments from arranging class.
CHAMBER MUSIC AND COACHINGS
10:30AM – 12:00PM
Each of the groups will be accompanied by one of our resident instructors full time. In addition to that, each ensemble will receive coaching from Julián Peralta and play in the masterclass for the other faculty to comment.
LUNCH BREAK / TANGO TALKS
12:15PM – 1:45PM
Get to know your ensemble colleagues and other festival participants over lunch. We will also plan on getting together on some of the days for our Lunch Talk Series. More information coming soon!
ORQUESTA TÍPICA

In our first activity of the afternoon, we will explore the repertoire of major orchestras of the 1940s as well as modern composers under the direction of our master teachers.
ARRANGING ELECTIVES

SPECIAL EVENING EVENTS
